What do I  have to know before booking safari to Africa

The main destinations are:

  • Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorilla population.

  • Mgahinga Gorilla National Park – Smaller but less crowded and equally beautiful.

  • Dry seasons: June to September and December to February are ideal – trails are less slippery and sightings are great.

  • However, gorilla trekking is possible year-round.

  • Long-sleeved shirt & pants (for protection against branches and insects)

  • Waterproof hiking boots

  • Gloves (for grabbing vegetation)

  • Rain jacket (rain is possible anytime)

  • Hat, insect repellent, and a backpack with water/snacks
