Itinerary


Day 1 – Arusha- lake manyara


Distance: ~130 km | Drive Time: ~2.5 hours

Activities:

  • Depart Arusha after breakfast.

  • Drive through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park.

  • Full-day game drive in the park — known for its tree-climbing lions, hippos, elephants, flamingos, and lush groundwater forest.

  • Picnic lunch in the park.

  • Evening transfer to lodge in Karatu or outside park.

  • Meals:

Distance: ~60 km | Drive Time: ~1.5 hours

Activities:

  • Early breakfast and short drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

  • Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive — expect sightings of rhinos, lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, and more.

  • Picnic lunch by the crater floor.

  • Late afternoon: ascend the crater and head to your lodge on or near the rim.

  • Meals:

Distance: ~145 km | Drive Time: ~3–4 hours (with game drive en route)

Activities:

  • After breakfast, drive through the Ngorongoro highlands to Serengeti National Park.

  • Optional stop at Olduvai Gorge (prehistoric site) or a Maasai village.

  • Enter Serengeti and enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge.

  • Explore the Seronera Valley, rich with lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and more.

  • Meals:

Activities:

  • Full-day game drive in Central Serengeti, exploring different ecosystems — grasslands, kopjes, and riverine forests.

  • Sunrise game drive for the best chance to spot predators.

  • Optional: Hot air balloon safari at dawn (extra cost).

  • Return to lodge in the evening for relaxation and dinner.

Option 1:

  • Morning game drive in Serengeti.

  • Fly from Seronera Airstrip to Arusha (~1.5 hours).
