Important Notice: Local Currency Use in Tanzania

🌍 TANZANIA BANNED THE USE OF FOREIGN CURRENCY IN  INCLUDING USD IN DOMESTIC TRANSACTIONS

📌

As part of recent national regulations, all payments in Tanzania must now be made in Tanzanian Shillings (TZS). This applies to all services, including tours, lodging, dining, and shopping.

What this means for you as a traveler:

  • All our tour prices will be quoted and payable in Tanzanian Shillings.

  • We cannot accept USD, EUR, or other foreign currencies in cash.

  • You can easily exchange money at authorized banks or bureaux de change once you arrive.

  • Most major hotels and businesses — including us — accept Visa, Mastercard, and secure digital payment methods.

This change helps strengthen Tanzania’s local economy, and we’re here to make your experience seamless and stress-free.
If you have any questions or need help planning for currency exchange, just let us know — we’re happy to assist!
